It took some time to get to grips with planning a week's trip to the Outer Hebrides for the first time. Now I feel I know it all and need... read more to return again already. Harris is by far our favourite island, the beaches, mountain climb, walks, swims in the crystal clear sea, great meals and really kind, charming people. Flodabay Cabin was absolutely perfect, a really comfortable sweet cabin, with fully working kitchen, oven and hob, microwave, fridge, (incl tea, coffee, salt & pepper) excellent bathroom / shower, very comfy bed with pop up TV screen! and the most important part.. the stunning views over Flodabay and hot tub. We would never book somewhere for the hot tub but here we used it every day, easy to use (uncover and step in) and we were able to enjoy those stunning views, even at night to enjoy gazing at the milky way, and also in the day to watch golden eagles soaring over head. Breathtaking. We were lucky with the weather, sunshine to explore and enjoy the views. It rained the last part of our trip and the cabin was the perfect place to rest, and get cosy in-between walks. The B&B is a separate business down near the house. The cabin is behind and up the hill with it's own driveway, behind a secure gate, and own land. beautifully remote. 2 lochs a short walk behind the cabin too. We... From what I heard previous to our stay, my expectation were high, and I am so happy to say it way exceeded my expectation, the views spectacular, the hot tub... read more relaxing, the double bed comfy, the amenities plentiful, but it was the little touches around the place that showed that our host Sharon & Tony really cared that our stay was as pleasurable and relaxing as we wanted.

I stayed at Flodabay for 5 nights and wish I'd stayed longer. I'd been in communication with Tony for well over a year and had to rearrange once because of... read more the pandemic - all communication was prompt and friendly with nothing too much trouble.
The excellent communication continued on the day I travelled and Tony was there to meet me on arrival to show me around. His pride in the cabin and its facilities was obvious and is entirely justified. The cabin is thoughtfully laid out and everything needed for a comfortable stay is there - even including SKY sports on the large TV that rises from the end of the bed!
The surroundings are absolutely beautiful with a number of lochs surrounded by hills that come to life as the light hits them to one side, and the sea to the other side. It's very easy to pass time sitting on the deck, or in the hot tub, with a bottle of the excellent local beer. I can also recommend Tony's venison sausages and wild boar burgers - and another beer.
Did I mention I wish I'd stayed longer? I've booked for 2 weeks next year 🙂 More

On the day of our arrival Tony and Sharon kept in touch with us to make sure our arrival was seemless and it really was. Tony and Sharon are two of the kindest people we have met, we had become engaged the previous night and upon sharing this news we arrived to a bottle of prosecco from Tony and Sharon to celebrate with which was such a kind gesture. The chalet itself is stunning, the views are breath taking, the place is spotlessly clean, there is everything you would ever need and the hot tub is a real treat. There are binoculars to watch the wildlife from the chalet and this became one of our favourite things to do during our stay, we saw seals and birds of prey from the comfort of the sofa in the chalet. The final experience of note for us was star gazing from the chalet's decked area in the evenings, we genuinely had never seen stars like it, there are so many and even the northern lights made an appearance during our stay!!
Overall this place is an absolute dream holiday destination. 30 minutes from the stunning beaches of Luskentyre and Seilebost for a day at the beach followed by a cold beverage in the hot tub surrounded by absolute peace and tranquility.
Tony and Sharon are both wonderfully kind people, give their chalet a try you will NOT be dissapointed!!!!! More

Despite being within view (just!) of mainland Scotland, you feel like you're on... read more a different continent, such is the rugged beauty of these wonderful islands. With the bendy, elevating, single lane roads, winding around the beautiful coastline, you could easily forget you're still on UK soil - by the way, did I mention the dolphins that swam along with the ferry?
As Tony meets you at the gates to the private croft that the chalet is located on, the adventure starts immediately, with a foot-down blast up the (fairly) steep gravel track that leads you to your little chunk of paradise.
The chalet itself is everything you'd expect, having read the description on the website, and seen the pictures. It's exactly as Tony and Sharon describe it - and then some.
What they can't describe (can anybody?) is the feeling you get when you walk around the chalet, look out over the bay (See attached picture) and realise that this piece of heaven is all yours for the duration of your stay. And I mean, all yours, it's so beautifully secluded.
In short, Flodabay Farm will reset your ideas of what relaxation is and send you home with a newly discovered calmness in a world that's currently going bonkers.
